Q: What's the Size of the Standard Wheels on 2005 VW Golf???
I wanna get some rims, but first want to know what inches the current stock rims are on the VW Golf.

A: VW Golf=16 inch and 17 inch. It is 16 inch for the cheapest version of the Golf with the weakest engine(Diesel). 17inch is for the more expensive, more powerful Golf, and 18 inch is for the sport version of the Golf, the GTI. VW Golf GTI=18inch.

Q: What number is the rear wiper fuse on a 2005 VW Golf Mk 5?
My rear wiper has stopped working and i dont have a handbook so cant determine which fuse is for the wiper. A link to a fuse map would be useful but just the number of the rear wiper fuse would be helpful. Thanks in advance Chris

Q: What do you think about the 2005 VW Golf GLS???
What are your opinions? Why? Would you buy it? I'm a teenager and might end up getting it so I want to know what the rest of the world thinks of it.

A: I'd drive it but my legs are too long for that small of a car. I see absolutely nothing wrong with it and banker in the town I live in has one that is pimped out. My friend actually has one and it drives very nicely, it's like a go-cart at times (which is fun). Your save on gas with it for the most part and who would pass up a free car?

Q: The A.M. radio in my 2005 vw golf does not work. no static, no stations on seek, no sound at all. ?
fm works fine deck is stock with the car, fm works great

A: There is a TSB (technical Service Bulletin) of for the VW's there is a possible issue with the antenna mast the AM is received in the base and the FM is received in the antenna. if i read it correctly. also there may be a issue with the coax cable from back to front but is not likely if you still receive FM. Good Luck

Q: Management light problem on VW Golf 2005?
My dads VW Golf's management light keeps staying on and neither him or me do not know why. My dad asked and mechanic and he said it was a sensor i think, but i'm not too sure. I researched it a little bit and on most topics it said that it is a common problem with VW golfs. Can anybody tell me why this light is constantly on? Car details - VW Golf 2005 Diesel 2.0 Thanks in advance.

A: if you feel no lack of performance it could simply be a malfunction with the console equipment.

Q: 2005 VW Golf 1.6 SE. Oil and filter change from main dealer.......?
I have been quoted £120 plus VAT for an oil and filter change on my car. It is coming up to one year old and according to VW all thats needed is an oil/filter change. The main dealer prices are rediculous. Will using and independent garage make my warranty void? And what about re-setting the service due computer warning data?

A: Put it this way. I do my own. Synthetic oil costs about $20 and a filter about $4 $24 = £12.72 so they're charging you over 100 quid for raising your car up for a few minutes, draining oil into a pan and unscrewing, & replacing a filter. As long as you keep receipts for the oil or independant oil changes so they know you kept a regular schedule, and what type of oil you used) you will be ok. Write on the repeipts the mileage at the time. Also be absolutely sure the correct oil is used (probably synthetic) if you go independant with a NEW car. On average places here in the USA charge $35 for oil & filter. That's £18.54. The computer shoud reset itself, however if it doesn't many places like the larger Halfords in the UK will do this for free.

Q: 2005 VW Golf GLS???
What do you think? Why? I'm a teenager that might end up getting one, so I want to know what the rest of the world thinks of them. serious answers only 10 pts. to whoever answers the best

A: Stay away from VW. Like Audi, BMW , Volvo, and most other European (hate to say it) cars they are very nice but plummet in value with age due to spotty reliability and universal SERIOUS electrical problems. I don't know why that is, but it is true. There is a sport model Camry, forget what it is called. It has the fin the nice alloys the sporty interior and will be 300% more reliable and less expensive to own than a crappy used VW. Don't get me wrong, I have owned VW's Audis, Mercedes, volvos etc. Many of them actually, I have never spent more money on a group of cars. My AMerican cars age much better than these cars. \ They look great, they handle great, BUT they start falling apart when they get to be 3-5 years old and THEY NEVER STOP FALLING APART. It is sad, truly it is...

Q: Can I install a Diesel engine in to a VW Golf? I have a 2005 Golf MK5 1.6 FSI engine!?

A: In my opinion it would not be practical to do so, there would be an enormous amount of work as you would need: 1. Engine - 1.9 or 2.0 TDI 2. Suitable gearbox(possible different driveshafts too) 3. Suitable wiring loom and engine management modules 4. Front suspension springs to cope with additional weight 5. Any pumps and brackets and mountings that may need changing to fit the diesel motor. As you can see it would be an immense job.
