Q: How much does the 2006 VW Golf Rabbit 2 door cost?
We got a car with clean car history for $10000. The salesman said it was a 4000 dollar mistake. It was supposed to be 14000 but it was a typo. We said it was false advertising so we got the car. Is it a mistake?
A: looks like the salesman was trying to pull one of his scams on you. its a tactic they use - they advertise the price of a car, like this rabbit, for a low price (like 10000) to attract buyers. the buyer will then come to the dealership, ready to buy a car, but then finds out that the dealer "made a typo". the whole point is to lure in buyers like you into their dealership so they can make you buy their cars.
btw, it was a "mistake" - a 2006 vw rabbit should be about 14000+, 10000 is very cheap

Q: My 2006 VW Golf 2.0 SDi is using about 1 Litre of oil every 6000 miles. Is this normal?
A: Since VW recommends an oil change every 5,000 miles, why are you running it 6,000 to even know it's that low? But to answer, I would bet you have some seepage somewhere. That is not a particulary high amount to be losing.

Q: vw 1.9 golf Tdi vs honda CRV 2006 new?
would like to get brand new car the end of this year, and interest on these two, can some1 share opinion please, the vw golf seens origin from south africa, is that reliable? and its interior gud or honda crv better?? thx
A: That's a no brainier, The Tdi Golf is a far better car. The Tdi engine requires very little maintenance, and about (93%) of the required maintenance can be accomplished by the average do it Yourselfer in the garage. A do it yourselfer can even pull and clean the intake manifold, (a common problem seen in extremely high mileage engines)

Q: battery problem??? VW golf?
I bought a 2006 volkswagen golf gls in early '07, i paid 18,000 for it, only had a little over 10K on it. Not a bad deal, Its a 5 spd, white, and handles great. ONly problem I have with it is the bat died a few days ago. I called AAA and they came out and jumped it for me. It ran good for a day or two, then the bat died again. I don't know much about cars, so what could the problem be? I do not have any aftermarket parts on it or anything that would drain the bat. Mabye the bat just needs replaced, I have no idea. So if anyone out there has an answer, thank you.
A: The cause could be more than one, it could be battery, alternators, burned wires etc. Please do not start replacing parts.
First of all, get the battery full charged and tested,if its ok then do output check of the alternator, as well as voltage drop on the charge circuit both positive and negative sides.Excess drop in voltage to the battery means you have either loose or rusty contacts or burned wires.
If all the circuit looks ok,retest the output of the alternator (voltage and current check) after a long drive , say 45 minutes. It could be that the output drop only after a long hot drive. If you are not a mechanic, then do these in a competent shop.
I hope some of this helps.
Q: I have been told that you should put a piece of cardboard infornt of the rad to help with the cold?
Does this work? I have a 2006 VW Golf TDI that takes FOREVER to warm up in anything colder then -15°C. My commute is 45 minutes one way on all highway driving (80 km/h). Some say thats the way diesels are, some say the thermostat could be stuck open. I don't know. I am looking for people who have a VW or know about them to help me with this. Carrying blankets and having the heated seats cranked sucks Thanks
A: that will help during the cold of winter. make sure you dont cover any more than about 1/3 to 1/2 of the radiator.
