For radio trivia users in the Sacramento area, this is for Elk Grove Auto Mall trivia. I checked the website and tried $13,988, but the website won't accept it. Anyone else have better luck? Thanks for letting the station know! I guess I could've done that, too, but I think they are tired of hearing from me... :)

A: I contacted the station via email and told them of the problem a few minutes ago. I should have an answer by tomorrow.

Q: I have a 2004 VW Jetta and it keeps telling me my driver's side door is open when it is not.. Any suggestions?
It will not stop beeping. I have turned off the dome lights and side lights but the light on the door won't shut off.

A: Does it say it is open, or that it is ajar. If your car says your door is ajar, just tell it to shut up...it is not a jar, it as a door.. what does your car know anyway? right?...no seriously, check the little tab that is usually located eitner on the dge of the door, or in the jam, and see if it may be Broken, if it is not, have a mechanic check it. Good luck!

A: Thermosstat is located on the drivers side of the cylinder head. Follow the upper radiator hose. It's under the plastic water outlet that is almost always cracked. Put the factory coolant back in it not green crap for domestic cars.

Q: Club for the 2004 VW Jetta?
Live down here in Phoenix, which has one of the highest auto theft percentages in the nation. The 2004 Jetta has at least two layers of security; one being the visual red flashing light next to the window, the second being an audible alarm if the car is "disturbed." Usually I'm not paranoid, but a friend who's lived down here for his entire life highly suggested getting The Club for deterrence. Retired car thieves responses would be highly appreciated.

A: The best anti-theft feature is a GPS locator system. Not only can you watch where your car goes online, but it usually gives a great insurance discount too.

Q: Why is my 2004 VW Jetta overheating?? PLEASE HELP?
My Jetta has a 1.8 Turbo engine and it is an 2004 model. I was driving down the road and all of the sudden my temperature light came on and the gauge was all the way to the red. I shut it off and let it cool then started it and as soon as I moved it heated up almost instantly again. My antifreeze is fine. There are no leaks. I am not used to VW just Chevy's so please help me out! It could be the water pump or the thermostat, but what would be my best guess? Where is the thermostat exactly? Thanks!!

A: What's the mileage? If it's over 60K it's best to change the water pump anyway. They are notorious for the plastic impeller disintegrating. Swap for pump with metal impeller. The thermostat is also a possibility, and cheaper and easier to change.
