Q: Who is the artist? 2008 VW Jetta commercial where the guy is driving with his kid?
Just saw this commercial and am dying to know who did the soundtrack for it. The guy is apparently driving his kid around, trying to calm him (and, go figure, the rev of the engine is supposedly quieting the child...)
Must be the 2008 Jetta. I've googled it and have come up empty handed.
Anyone?
A: Here is a link to watch the commercials: http://www.vw.com/jetta/films/en/us/#/WVBJ70162a/low/
Its by Wilco, I think the song is "Sky"
Q: How do you change oil in a 2008 VW Jetta?
We have looked through the manuals even searched the web and no luck on how to do this. We have always changed the oil in our cars and this one is about to hit 3000. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated it takes a 30 min plus trip to the car dealership.
A: In modern days, old oil is removed from cars by using a special machine that sucks out the oil from the pan with a tube that is inserted all the way in to where the dipstick resides, using vacuum, the old oil is sucked out and emptied in to a container on the machine.
However, all cars, to my best of knowledge should have a drain on the bottom of their oil pans that is usually closed with a screw, remove the screw and the oil drains out. To access the oil pan, you might need to remove a metal or plastic shield that covers the bottom front of your car.
Q: how do i get my 2008 vw jetta SE to do thisss?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/aktifpaylasim/2273081079/in/photostream/ how do i get it to turn on those bottom lights? i found this pic online.
A: For most VW cars you need to tug on the main light switch(pull it out towards you one click).
Q: People with goood taste please answer! Which color looks better on a 2008 VW Jetta??
Black or White? (Also, for a girl)
oops sry i posted this a 2nd time. i didn't realize it worked the first time .sorry!
A: I own a black sedan and a white coupe (additionally, I have a silver sedan).
Logistically, my black car begins to look dusty and dirty just one day after I take it to the car wash. My white car can go two weeks without being washed, and it still looks super clean from far and not bad up close either. However, black always looks smooth and sharp when it is clean.
As for dings and dents, black is a more reflective color, and minor scratches and dings are much more visible. White tends to mask those minor blemishes.
Now, when choosing a color for your car, your should also take into consideration what model you are buying and its lines and overall visual look. A Jetta is a sedan, with a relatively high roof and window pillars. With white, your chrome and plastic will stand out more. With black, the whole car will look more blended. Also, some manufacturers make certain trim levels available only in a few colors. Furthermore, some colors have restricitons on what color interior you can get.
I suggest you go to a dealership and take digital photos of yourself in front of and inside the car so that you can "see" which one you like better.
And as mentioned before, I own both a black and white car......and I am satisfied with both. I wish I could keep my black sedan looking cleaner longer, but you have to take the good with the bad.
Oh yeah, if it were me, I would choose a new model Jetta in white and an older model Jetta in black. Good luck on your decision!

Q: 2008 VW Jetta or 2008 Honda Civic? I am going to Lease for 3-4 years and I don't know what car to choose?
A: The Honda Civic is deffinately the best to go with in terms of reliability and cost of ownership...but the main reason is because there are some really nice Lease Specials on Civics right now as well....
So if you are looking to lease anyway...I would think it would be the best route to go all-around!
Good Luck!
Chris
Q: Need personal reviews for VW 2008 Jetta Owners.
Need personal reviews for VW 2008 Jetta Owners.
A: You might as well get a Corolla and slap some vw badges on it. The Jetta is lame, boring, ordinary, mundane, etc. Get a Passat 2.0T if your going brand new. If your going used, get a mk4 Jetta GLI.
Q: What do u all think of the 2008 VW Jetta SE???????
I mean the exterior of it. i would just like some opinions. thanks
A: Like VW's stying - always have... Volkswagen has a knack for catching your eye! Read below though:
Was always skeptical (still am) of the Mexican and Brazillian made VWs because I've had some bad luck with them, and some of my friends have too.
However Though! I am actually (despite my resolve) leasing an 08 Jetta SE and I have to say that I'm really impressed with the massive improvement in quality since the Mk3 & Mk4 models (1993-2005)... great gas mileage (actually just went on a road trip and got 34mpg with the A/C on!) and a really nice ride!
If you're thinking about getting one, normally I'd slap myself for recommending a non-German made VW, but this one's a good car!
Q: 2008 VW Jetta vs Subaru Impreza Seats?
Concerned with the front seats in the Subaru. I am okay with the Jetta. Anyone have experience with the Imprezza and how the seats are for support.?
A: I would pick the Imprenza it has better seats
Q: 2008 VW Jetta Indicator Lights?
I'm thinking about buying the 2008 Volkswagen Jetta. One of the safety questions I have about the car is where all the indicator lights are located. I'm thinking about getting the SE version, if it matters.
I'm worried about the location of the front indicator, but my main concern is where the rear indicator is located. Is it the brake-light itself (which means the brake light flashes, rather than stay solid), or is the indicator a separate light?
After 2 questioning responses, I guess that I should say what I basically am asking.
What I'm saying is "where are the indicator lights on the Volkswagen Jetta?"
A: What on earth are you talking about?
Q: VW Jetta 2008 or 2009 with ASR Button does mean it has no ESP?
I am willing to buy a new 2008 or 2009 VW Jetta, but my fear is that all sales guys says that this car has ESP "I don't trust them because they don't know what is ASR or ESP", but I could only find a button with ASR OFF. Does this means that ESP is missing or it is permanently ON?
I am not sure the ESP is permenantly on as if you have a look at the safety video at VW site http://www.volkswagen.com/vwcms_publish/vwcms/master_public/virtualmaster/en2/models/jetta.html
you will see that there is a button called ESP OFF instead of this button I found a button with ASR?
A: If it has an ASR button in place of the ESP button, that means it just has the less-complicated traction control system and it has no electronic-stability program. My Rabbit only has ASR and it gets around just find in bad weather, if that's what your concern is. The ESP is probably just a waste of money.
Q: 2008 VW Jetta 2.5 or 2008 Mazda 3?
looking for a new car to buy.
in high school.
need car that will last.
focus on functionality and style.
base models for both please.
the Jetta has 170 hp
the Mazda3 has 148 hp
A: Mazda3. More Reliable, Faster, Better Resale Value. The VW comes in a really nice white, so if you want a white car, get the Jetta.
Q: First oil change on my 2008 VW Jetta
Are the dealership pricey when it comes to using synthetic oil?
A: Yes. Expect $60-$70.
You're permitted under your warranty to have service performed elsewhere, where you can expect $40-$45 for synthetic. Just tuck the receipts into the manual in your glove box, in case your engine blows up and VW gives you a hard time about non-dealer preventive maintenance.
You might also check the manual. My last Jetta was the previous generation, but it didn't require synthetic oil, and that was the high output V6 model. If you can use regular oil, you'll cut that bill by $20 or so.
Q: Repeat on a 2008 Jetta 6 disc changer?
Is there a repeat button on the 6 disc changer in a 2008 VW Jetta? If so how do I get it to work?
A: I am not sure of what kinda radio/CD unit you have installed but try pressing button number 3 on ur CD unit. For 2008 Passat, you should definately have a radio card or user manual which tells you how some of these equipment are operated. If not get one from the dealer.
Q: What do yall think of the VW Jetta SE (2008)?
like the exterior/interior and all? I bought one recently..and i saw the manual it says like half of the parts are made in Germany and half in Mexico. I thought that really sucked. But overall how would you rate this car? Just like some opinions. Thanks
A: I bought a silver 2008 Jetta SE two weeks ago and I love it. I did the research too and it turns out that the jettas are all manufactured in Puebla, Mexico. So much for being German cars! If you look up the VW plant up online, though, it doesn't look so bad.
Anyway, its a sweet car! Very good looking, inside and out!
Q: Does anyone have a 2009 Toyota Corolla or a 2008 VW Jetta?
I am interested in either one of these cars. I live in NJ so I have all types of weather conditions here. I currently have a Mazda 3s, but my lease is almost up. I really like both of these cars, but having a tough time making a decision. Can anyone please give me their feedback on either of these cars? How is the everyday driving on the highway/side roads? How do they handle in bad weather conditions, such as snow and rain? Any other input would be great. Thanks everyone!!!
A: If you like the Mazda 3, then get the Jetta. The Jetta is faster than the Mazda 3 and 2nd best to the Mazda 3 handling.
It also has just as much standard features and great quality and reliability.
The Toyota Corolla is much slower than the Mazda 3. It is also quieter and not nearly as sporty as the other 2 cars. It is boring to drive. And it was said that quality went down with Toyota cars.
The Mazda and VW also hava bigger, wider tires so they are better in snow and rain.
