I have a 2007 Volkswagen Passat. I recently had the oil changed, not at the dealer, and the service light is still on. How can I turn this off without taking it to the dealership?
A: With the doors closed put the key in the ignition. Hold down the trip odometer reset button. Turn the key to the on position. You will see the service indicator light (wrench). Press the minute adjustment button. Release the trip odometer reset button.

A: TAKE IT BACK AND ASK FOR A NEW CAR WITH THE IPOD ADAPTER !!!! its not standard but if you do have its its on the left side of the glove box..
Q: How do I get the "Check Engine Now" light to go out on a 2007 VW Passat?
A: If you have filled up with fuel within the last 48 hours, you need to insure that the fuel filler cap is on correctly. VW has put on the gas door the warning that the fuel cap on wrong, loose or missing will turn on the check engine light. If the cap is loose or on wrong; secure it correctly, the light will remain on for up to two weeks, setting that aside: you can and should take it to the dealer for a check out on the cause of the light. VW will allow the dealer a one time no charge to the customer for this issue: they probably won't be happy about it, VW warranty only pays .2 or .3 hour @ warranty rate to reset the light including a checkout. If the vehicle has running issues and light is flashing, have the vehicle towed to the closest agency: driving it could be doing a majour damage to the emissions system/motor/transmission! In any case, the vehicle should go to the dealer for a check out. If the fuel cap is loose, remember that you need to hear at least 3 clicks of the cap to consider it tight. I have a 2007 VW Passat Wolfsburg edition. I've had the car for over a year, but have never been able to find the mp3 jack. Does anyone know where it would be located? The car does have a 6-disc CD changer. Thanks!
A: I have a 2007 GTI, my mp3 jack in in the 'roof' of the glove box, it's a small white rectangle with a micro jack in the middle.

Q: how to row the windows down from the remote 2007 vw passat?
A: I have a New Beetle, but ECS has a module that should work... When my ECS toy arrived, they weren't lying. It is a simple 2 minute plug and play install! I press and hold unlock and the windows start to go down until I release the button. I press lock and the windows roll all the way up. (It also is supposed to close the sunroof too, but it doesn't work on the convertible).

A: The Oil filter on all of the newer VWs is a cartridge and it is located at the front of the engine near the bottom of the rad fan. It is inside a black case that you turn off like an old style filter.

A: First off, VW's may seem real nice but they just don't last quality wise and their resale/maintenance costs is horrid compared to Japanese cars.
Second, a new Solara may be coming out (or discontinued) so look into it. The current one is probably at the end of its life cycle and it would be idiotic to buy a car that is about to be refreshed or killed off.
If you want a stylish, sporty looking coupe, Honda is launching an entirely new 2008 Accord in just a few short months (the fall). It looks pretty....new.

Q: 2007 VW Passat Wagon?
Any one have one? What has been your experience? I hear comments about poor reliability (electronic/mechanical problems, rattles, etc.). Thinking of Passat Wagon 3.6L 4Motion or Volvo XC70.
A: I owned a 2003 VW Passat Wagon GLX V6 4-Motion and LOVED it. Only reason I traded was because I had to have the new EOS. Love it even more. Go with the Passat, Volvo is a better Ford, that's it!

A: I work around cars every day as my job, as a vendor service to dealerships. So I see what is going on, but I am not held to not telling the truth for I am not in sales.
Passat....nice car, but around 30,000 it will start to give you electronical issues. Seen many have gages, doors, even the CPU not working properly. Audi A4, A6 are just as bad, the only VW I see that normally is always good, no matter the miles, is the Jetta. Even the Beetle is junk within 40,000. Interior paint is coming off, steering wheel is all worn and ugly, door starts to click for being too heavy for the hinge.
Mazda CX7, being new, can't say much about it. I personally like the Mazda6 w/ the V6 the best. To me that's a sharp, sexy lined car. And when I see someone zippin' around in one, it looks good while it flys by.
Might want to look at a used Lexus ES300, last generation, not this current one, its ugly and just a redressed Camry. Last generation (was last of the 2 tones) is a true Lexus, no Camry sister. This is one of the best cars out there, hands down. Will last you till 200,000 w/o even thinking twice, 300,000 if you maintain her. And the ride is very good and they are peppy even being a Lexus.

I currently own a 2004 VW Passat 4Motion. My parents are buying me a 2007 VW Passat Wolfsburg edition for Christmas. Is the Wolfsburg a "good" package? I need a car that get better fuel mileage, but still has an upscale feel. I know the specs of the car, I just need some personal opinions of people that already own the car. Thanks!
A: Hello my dad just bought an '07 wolfsburgh edition passat. I only have seen it for the weekends I have been home this year but i liked everything about it. As you know it has the 2.0L turbo engine which is decent on fuel. My girlfriend actually mentioned that it has that "upscale feel" to it when you're inside when I gave her a tour. It's a very good package which isn't excessive. My dad loves it. He just got it because he liked it more than the '08 komfort editions.
One con could be that it's an '07 model and the choices are becoming limited since the dealerships are all stocking up with the new '08 models. Hope that helped.
