Q: overall what is a better buy a 2008 Dodge Caliber, or a 2008 VW Rabbit?
The Caliber would be the sxt sport edition and the Rabbit would be a 4-door

A: The Dodge Caliber is the better buy.

A: Should have bought the diesel. 50mpg

Q: how different is the 2007 VW Rabbit to the 2008 Rabbit?
Are there any major differences, are there any sites where I can compare the specs?

A: " Few Changes on the 2008 Rabbit. The single engine offering moves up several notches to 170hp. The trim levels have new names: Rabbit S 2dr, and Rabbit S 4dr, and a tire-pressure monitoring system in now standard on both." - September 2007 Motor Trend magazine

Q: Does the 2008 VW Rabbit have a full size spare tire like the Jetta does?

A: Yes

Q: I want to buy some 20 in rims for a 2008 vw rabbit what off set should the rims n size tire so they wont rub?

A: The guy above me is right, your car will look ridiculous, fitting 20inch rims will spoil your ride, there would be more drawbacks than benefits. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, your 2008 car is still under warranty and 20ich wheels are way beyond what's maximum allowed size for the Rabbit. Go with the 18s - by carefully choosing the design you can make the wheels appear larger.

Q: 2008 VW Rabbit?
Im thinking of buying a 2008 VW rabbit, it has a 2.5L 5cylinder engine with 170 hp. anyone here have one? do you thinks it's pretty fast? what kind of cars have you raced and what was the outcome of the race?

A: your car that you are looking at is the v5,a very good car in standard form, they are very tuneable and reliable, not many cars that can match it for the price and group!

Q: I have a 2008 vw rabbit and i need to know what this symbol means...?
It is showing a symbol that looks like parenttheses with an exclamation mark in between and wavy lines underneath. what does that mean???

A: it means low tire pressure in one of your tires.

Q: how much did u pay to ur 2008 vw rabbit?
!@?!@?

A: usd 16750

Q: has any got a 2008 vw rabbit for under 16500 with 6 speed auto?
are you happy with the car

A: 17200

Q: 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer, or a 2008 VW Rabbit?
Lancer DE most options. Rabbit 2dr. Most options. Which one is better?

A: Dude, the Mazdaspeed3 is cool, but thats not what you asked is it. Ignore those dumb shits, if they took the time to think, they would realize the Mazdaspeed3 is way above the budget you are looking to spend. Anyways..... of the two i choose the rabbit. Great looks, more power, and alot of standard options.....people need to start actually answering questions, and not giving suggestions.....

Q: a 2008 vw rabbit is an mk V or mk IV?
which is a VW rabbit.. mk V or mk IV?? and what is the difference? ok.. here's the thing.. I want to buy my boyfriend the emblem in black and the truck badge in black and carbon fiber... and the one I keep seeing is for a golf mk 4 and a golf mk 3 and there is also a golf mk 5... now.. teh dilemma the rabbit is like the golf.. I don't know the actual difference in sizes of emblems.. is one larger or smaller than the other??

A: MKV for 5th generation Rabbit/Golf. MKIV is 1999-2005 and was called the VW Golf. MKIII is 1994-1998 VW Golf and so on. MKV is a completely new design, different engine and technology and looks. And they changed the name back to Rabbit. MK1 was called the VW Rabbit, but they changed the name to Golf when the MKII came out. The next new design for the Rabbit will be 6th generation so it will be called MKVI. I think it will come out in 2010.

Q: Isn't 15mpg for a brand new VW Rabbit 2008 too low??
I got a 2.5 Automatic Rabbit 08. I love the car and the tiptronic is super fun. Here is my problem, and I wonder if it is common. I am still on my second fuel tank and the first tank gave me only 15.6mpg. Given that the tank holds 14.5 gallons and the car is advertised as 22mpg city, 29mpg highway I fear there is something wrong. I drove only 220 miles while I should have gotten at least 350 on average. Anybody with the same problem? Or is this just common among brand new cars? I am thinking about taking it to service tomorrow.

A: You need to consider how you are driving, yes that is low but if you race from stop light to stop light or accelerate hard then fuel mileage goes down. Also, its coming up on winter so fuel has changed and mileage goes down due to longer warm up times. The other explanation is if you are riding the brake. Doubtful it is engine related

Q: Is the Rabbit in this VW.Com link a 2007 or 2008 model?
Is this VW Rabbit here: http://vw.com/rabbit/en/us/# a 2007 or 2008 model?

A: This model is the 2008 Rabbit, with some accessories (body kit and wheels) that you will know of on the "Build and Breed" page on that site. I don't know if you been on that link, but that page will configure the Rabbit to match your style, with one crazy surprise. You can see a mini interactive film called "Breed my Rabbit" which shows what will happen if 2 VW Rabbits (your configured one and another base VW Rabbit) had created a new model color or look (the craziest is the section after the first part where you can do the same thing with your built car and... one real, fluffy, pet rabbit a bit larger than the VW Rabbit itself... isn't that strange).

Q: Is it possible to install an ipod hook up in a 2007 VW rabbit ?
I think the 2008 rabbits come with the ipod hook up standard, but not the 2007. Is there an easy way to add one, or would I just have to get a whole new stereo ? I don't want to get an FM transmitter because they get a lot static. Are there any other options?

A: there is an ipod adapter kit that you can add to the factory, would need to replace a couple of the connector wires on the back of the radio but this is in the install instructions. Just pick one up at the dealer parts department

Q: Does anyone own a VW Rabbit?
My husband and I are considering a 2007 or 2008 VW Rabbit as the 4 door hatchback....we would love to hear any positives and or negetavies about this car. No kids, just the two of us with our two black lab mixes. We travel a lot and would sometimes probably have another couple in the car with us... And does it really get that great gas milage? Thanks! Any info would be helpful :o)

A: Dan O Neil of the LA Times said of the New Rabbit: "this is the first car I have ever driven over a period of 1 week, and did not hear a single groan, rattle, creak, noise...nothing. Even a $300,000 Bently makes SOME kind of noise" He also had nothing but praise for the fit and finish/quality as the Rabiit has one HUGE plue going for it: Made in Germany, the Jetta and Bug are made in Mexico(always have had iffy quality from Mexico). The structural solidity of the MK5 Gold(Rabbit) is also incredibly strong. The DSG Triptronic Automatic has also been given the title of "worlds best automatic transmission", which is set up for manual-auto driving. I have also heard it is very quiet, and well equipped standard. I would stay away from gimmicks which REALLY can make any car become very expensive very quickly. The car also comes standard with a 170HP Inline 5-Cylinder which will runs forever. Watercooled VW engines are extremely durable. I think the car would be fine for 4 people, but no more. You could not fit 4 people plus dogs. Milega etops would be 27-30MPG at say, 65-70 with the cruise control on(and that's about anyone could expect with todays "economy cars" which have grown larger/heavier/more surface area). As your speed increases, you MPG suffers in any car. DON'T buy a 2007...you'll take a massive depreciation hit even if it is 1000-2000 off the MSRP. ALWAYS buy the current year(which is also have any updates, etc) Good luck!
